In this playful series, Vaughan goes back to basics to paint objects or still-life on white.
This simple approach to painting freshens observation skill and brushwork. Themes to paints have to be interesting to this artist, so she takes words alongside commercially successful toys of the 1960’s to make a statement. To place French wording with a popular, American, iconic object is funny. Or at least the artist thinks so. It also allows us to laugh a little at ourselves.
